A Nandu boy visiting his home now in ruins
Recently, there has been an escalated rise in attacks by Fulani herders against predominantly Christian communities in the middle belt region and the attacks appear to be following a similar pattern where herders migrate into a region, increasing the frequency of disputes over crop damage, water pollution and in the absence of mutually accepted mediation, disagreements become increasingly violent.

Tina Arewa and her surviving child
There's a cause for alarm and a pathetic cry for help especially with the mayhem that visited Nandu village in Sanga, Kaduna. On the 16th of March, 2019 at 12 midnight, Fulani herdsmen invaded the village of Nandu, set thirty homes ablaze, charred their harvested crops, killed eight including children, one among the many stories is the heart wrenching one of the Arewa family who lost three children to the insurgency in a gruesome act of slitting their stomachs, their throats and setting them ablaze, their mom, Tina Arewa and a child escaped death by the whiskers and are presently recuperating from intense bullet wounds at the hospital.

It is based on this, that the Healing Hands Health Society founded by Dr. Uvoh Onoriobe, a missionary dentist based in Detroit Michigan, USA swung into action, first with the intention to rebuild the Arewas' home but now willing to rebuild all thirty homes in Nandu.

Dr.Uvoh founded Healing Hands Health Society in 2008 as a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental, faith based organisation, involved in providing free health care, health education and disaster relief in various parts of the world and countries such as: Ghana, Zambia, Brazil, Burundi, Kenya, Malawi, Ethiopia, Swaziland, South Africa, Haiti, Cambodia, Trinidad and Tobago have all benefited.

Dr. Uvoh and his team travels the world, providing free dental care to people in need through his organization 'Healing Hands Health Society', and always leaves a piece of his heart everywhere he goes.
