The above quotes describe Dr. Lota Ojiako of Zebralter Medical. It took fifty-five seconds for her listeners to come to terms with her life's purpose- empower black youth.
According to her, there is glaring statistics about inequities in the black community. She is all about overcoming the inequalities and barriers to a career in Medicine or Dentistry for the black youth.
It is no news that blacks are poorly represented in the field of medicine.

How will they know if they have not seen?
How will they know if they have not heard?
Not every black child has a physician or dentist in their family.
Not every black child knows it is possible.
Too often, most, do not know it “IS” possible.
The burning question is, does it stop with a few of us?
Can we, though separate, come together to provide a strong voice?
To be the voice of change in this generation?
The answer is Yes, We most definitely can.
We can be a strong voice, that can shine a light on the present generation and generations to come, that “We can, You can, We all can”.

We will partner with local schools in different states across America to teach and empower our youth that science is an option, one school at a time.
We need each other.
We must be the change we seek. We cannot wait for others. We must rise up, as individuals and as a community, with one voice to encourage our youth that they, too, can dream big and work towards their goals.
We cannot be what we don’t see!

She has decided and is passionately organizing to reach to black youth in the United States.
Her message is simple: We can empower our youth by our presence. Exposing them to people that look like them in medical career choices, empowers them and shows them their dreams can become a reality too.
